Can you have a sea cucumber for a pet?

As pet? Maybe as an addition to a salt-water fish tank. Not sure it would qualify as a pet, given you cannot really do much with it. I guess it would depend on how you define the word "pet".

So, you might be able to have one, (if you can find one in a store, or in the ocean), but it wouldn't make much of a pet, I'd think..

Where is the sea cucumber on the food chain? What does it eat and what eats it?

Location on food chain:

Near the bottom with anthropod.

What does it eat?

Sea cucumbers are generally scavengers, feeding on debris in the benthic layer. Their diet consists of plankton and other organic matter found in the sea. One way they might get a supply of food is to position themselves in a current where they can catch food that flow by with their tentacles when they open. Another way is to sift through the bottom sediments using their tentacles. They can be found in great numbers beneath fish farms.

What eats it?

Sea cucumber is considered a delicacy in Far East countries such as Malaysia, China, Japan, and Indonesia. It is also highly valued for its supposed medicinal properties.

Animals such as octopuses, squids, some crabs, and some sharks are known to consume sea cucumber along with some other species as well.|||Sea cucumbers are generally scavengers, feeding on debris in the benthic layer. Does a sea cucumber lack a true brain like other echinoderms?

Anything with radial symmetry usually lacks a brain. Sea cucumbers, along with other members of the P. Echinodermata (i.e. starfish, brittle stars, sea urchins, sand dollars), do not have a brain but rather a network of nerves.

Hope this helps!|||Not just echinoderms.|||Yup. It's just Ganglia|||Yes...sea cucumbers do not have a brain.|||aha do they swim?
